I love the artful placement of the sugar pearls. And wow! I really want to get a hold of some molding chocolate for those beautiful wrappers.

Earnest Eats

My husband is a lover of Honest Tea organic fresh brewed bottled tea. When I was perusing the food aisle at Marshall’s and saw some chocolate bars labelled “Earnest Eats”, I thought “Hey I gotta give these a shot!” Earnest Eats makes whole grain partially organic delicious treats. Chocolate peanut butter looked especially tasty; one cannot go wrong with that flavor combination.

My husband grabbed one in a rush for breakfast one day and called me minutes later; “You have got to get more of these bars!”

The plague of Marshall’s is sometimes you find great foods that you can only locate online thereafter. I found some at Alice – the online supermarket with free shipping for 6+ items – but lo and behold price comparison shopping to the rescue! Amazon offers a subscription to bring the pricetag per bar to under $1! Not bad considering the lowest I see stuff like this is $.69 each.

Eagerly awaiting my shipment to arrive…

Couscous with Peas

20 Sep

While trying to make a fulfilling dinner, I usually pore over the main course while consistently neglecting any alternative foods for my plate. Sure, we can grab a bag of premade salad, but sometimes this just bores me to my core.

Then I learned about couscous.

Couscous and I became fast friends after I created her from the suggested sides of a recipe from the Martha Stewart App Store app. Thanks, Martha. I am in your debt.

These are what you’ll need:

  • 3/4 C. Couscous
  • 1/2 bag of Peas
  • 1 C. Water
  • A couple tablespoons of Butter

  1. Bring a small saucepan of water to a boil.
  2. Throw in frozen peas. Cook for time, less 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, pour in couscous, and cover.
  4. Let sit 5 minutes then toss in butter.
  5. Fluff with a fork and you’re done!

Barely more than five minutes and you have a yummy special side.
